#WeWriWa Cargon: Honor and Privilege #fantasy #scifi #postapocalyptic

Nearing the end of this first chapter. I hope you enjoy another 8-10 sentences from me and all the other Weekend Writing Warriors.

Adam stepped back from the doors. “I'm sorry, Mother. There was a servant there. I was just wondering what she was doing in the hall so late.”
“Ah, yes. She is bright, that one. I have my eye on her.” She slipped her arm through Adam's and led him to their shared suite.

  1. It seems they both have an interest in the servant. Very intriguing! :)

  2. They're interested in the servant and the servant is interested in their game of Cargon. When her move in the game catches their eyes, they'll be even more interested in her.

  3. I like how they both have their eye on her. She better be careful, though!
Interested to see what happens next!

    1. She does have to watch her step, but then, that's what makes for a great story, isn't it?

  5. Interesting. The mother recognizes there is intelligence in the "servant".

  6. Hm, now I'm wondering if the "eye on her" is a good or bad thing?

    1. That would depend on your point of view, wouldn't it. ;) I'll say it's a good thing.

    1. More than you might realize! This game is so important, not just this match, but all those to come!

  8. Intriguing way to bring her into semi-privilege of education among the elite. She is sort of "discovered"?

  9. So the best way to get noticed is to play the game, albeit surreptitiously. But this seems like a good thing for her, so I'll keep fingers crossed for her!

  10. I think she'd be walking a tightrope. Intelligence is good, but how much would be threatening?

  11. She's interested in the servant too? Curious to know what for. :)

  12. An eye, huh? Seems a little ominous.

  13. This could be seen as either an opportunity or a threat. Probably both. And probably mother and son have different ideas!

  14. The mother is observant. Is this good or bad? Can't wait to read more to find out.

  17. Can't help but think that having their eyes on her is an entirely good thing.
