Hello again! I've been absent from Weekend Writing Warriors for a couple of weeks. That happens when you're sick and the next weekend is a holiday, but I'm back now! To catch you up, Cassy is on her way to deal with the doctor that created the virus responsible for turning all adults into zombies.
Death has become such a regular part of my life that the fact Evans isn’t a meat sack yet doesn’t deter me one bit. He’s the source of the virus, therefore, he must be stopped before he creates it. Easiest way? Remove him, just like I’ve been removing meat sacks for months.
Easiest way, how should I kill him? For the first time, I realize that I could be arrested, I could go to jail. There were no authorities where I came from. There was us and death, pretty simple choice. Rather, no choice. I wouldn’t accept death.
But how will his death change the time line? Intriguing!
ReplyDeleteGreat Terminatoresque situation! Really loving this, Kimmydonn!
ReplyDeleteAgreeing with Jessica! If he dies, what happens to the future?
ReplyDeleteWhat Jessica said. How will his death change the time line? Inquiring minds want to know :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting dilemma but I'm loving this twist on a zombie tale! Great snippet, can't wait for more...
ReplyDeleteI guess that if any of us could go back in time and stop evil from happening, we would probably do it. But of course that one event could then have numerous knock on events in the future. An intriguing story.
ReplyDeleteNice reality check, making everything so much more complicated. Bet she'll have a lot harder time killing someone who isn't a zombie, no matter what the motivation.
ReplyDeleteQuite a dilemma. A I can appreciate not accepting death as an option.
ReplyDeletetweeted.
Yes, the possibility that she'll be arrested is very real. How do you explain you're killing someone to keep them from destroying the world and not sound crazy yourself. Can't wait to see how she does it!
ReplyDeleteI'll vouch for her and say she doesn't deserve to go to jail! :D Great work on this!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'd hate to be in her shoes even more ow, what a terrible decision to have to make!
ReplyDeleteI love Cassy's voice - compelling and lightly humorous.
ReplyDeleteFrom a strictly numbers standpoint, this is an easy choice. I do wonder if he could be stopped less violently, though.
ReplyDeleteLove her thought process as she tries to adjust to a different reality.
This is an unselfish choice to make. I love it.
ReplyDeleteAbout time she realized she didn't have a plan. Hope she comes up with one soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great loop! It does present a conundrum for her. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a decision she has to make.
ReplyDeleteShe may never say die, but apparently she will say "kill!" Interesting paradox.
ReplyDeleteSorry for being tardy to comment. Blame *#@!@ LAX for getting me home a day late.
